Kaiserschmarren is a typical dish from South Tyrol which is part of the traditional cuisine also in the Ampezzo valley.
It is usually served accompanied by cranberry jam.
Ingredients for 2 servings:
100 g of flour
100 ml of milk
1 tablespoon sugar
100 g of cranberry jam
Mix the flour with the milk, then add sugar, salt and eggs until mixture is smooth with no lumps.
Peel the apple and slice directly into the mixture and stir.
Heat the butter in a pan, add the mixture and form a thick omelette.
Cook on both sides and cut into irregular pieces.
Pour into the dish, sprinkle with icing sugar and serve warm with a tablespoon of cranberry jam.
